Privacy

Topolu has no accounts and sets no cookies of its own. Topolu runs topolu.com and is responsible for the data described here; write tocontact@topolu.com about anything on this page. Last updated 23 October 2026.

What we record

For each page view we count the page and the kind of referrer (search engine, another site, our own pages, an embed, none). We do not store IP addresses or browser identifiers with it, so the counts can't identify you. They are kept for about three months, the retention of the analytics store, and used to decide which pages to keep, update or remove. Searches typed into the site box are not stored; a search that finds a place adds one to that place's search count. If you email us, we keep the message to answer it.

Legal basis (for visitors in the EU and UK): our legitimate interest in running and improving the site, for the anonymous counts and security logs, and your request, for emails.

Services that see your request

Cloudflare hosts the site, so every request passes through its network, which keeps short-lived logs for operation and security under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Our contact address forwards through Cloudflare Email Routing.
Cloudflare Web Analytics adds one script to each page that reports load times and the page address to Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and keeps no IP addresses or browser identifiers (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
OpenFreeMap serves the tiles of the interactive map. Your browser fetches them only when a map is opened, so OpenFreeMap sees your IP address and the area you view.
Forecasts are fetched by our server, not your browser, so weather services never see you. Fonts and the site's own scripts load from topolu.com.

The site shows no ads today. If it does, this page will name the ad provider and the cookies it uses before they run.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and to correct or delete it, by writing to contact@topolu.com; we answer within 30 days. Since page counts carry no identifiers, in practice only emails you sent us can be found. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
